This is the second house, in a pair of similar residential projects located in the northeast side of the city of Queretaro.
As with every one of the firm's projects our goal was to create a house in which thermal and acoustic comfort for its inhabitants would be achieved, by using only passive techniques. We studied how to reduce solar radiation on the east and west facades by rotating the second floor in order for the main bedroom to face south. We also took advantage of the northeast prevailing winds.
For the second time we decided to use exposed clay brick with a high thermal retardation coefficient. As in the first project, only regional materials were used, as well as other materials from the site. Only native plants were planted as an integral part of the project. The end result was a house with thermal and acoustic comfort, low maintenance costs and environmental sensitivity.
