This was the second house, in a two series of similar residential projects located in the northeast side of the city of Queretaro.
As every project of the firm, we were looking to create a house, in which thermal and acoustic comfort for its inhabitants would be achieved, by using only passive techniques; therefore, we studied how to reduce solar radiation on the east and west facades, and so we rotated the second floor of the house, in order for the main bedroom to face south. We also took advantage of the prevaling winds from the northeast.
For the second time, we decided to use exposed brick, made of clay, with a high termal retardation coefficient. Same as in the first project, only regional materials were used, as well as other materials from the site. Only native plants were planted as part of an integral project. As a result, a house with thermal and acoustic comfort, low maintenance costs, and more environmentally adapted was built.
